What is the NATM?

For more than three decades, the National Association of Trailer Manufacturers (NATM) has dedicated itself to the improvement of safety and performance in trailers. The association represents makers of light and medium duty trailers, as well as suppliers of products and services to the industry. 

Basically, they work to raise awareness about safe trailer hauling, and act as a voice for trailer manufacturers all over the nation. When congress or some other governing body is going to make a rule or regulation on trailers, the NATM is there and participates and communicates in varying ways. There are more than 900 companies and counting being represented by the NATM. 

The NATM works to improve safety through the mandatory Compliance Verification Program, requiring all trailer manufacturers to verify they use the manufacturing processes that build trailers that meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS) and industry standards.
